A Person Who Matters to Me by Sophie

My uncle died when I was just a baby. It is disappointing because I was just a baby. He died when I was just four years old. I wish I could see him once more. If I could see him one more time I would say " I love you". Even though he has died, I still love him. I have only seen him in pictures. My uncle had three cats Champ, Roosevelt, and Charlie. Charlie is still alive and he lives with my nana. My uncle’s name was Jack and he liked to bake chocolate cake, and he loved painting cats.

The First Time I Ever Rode My Unicycle by Ashton

The first time I ever rode my unicycle across the whole entire deck I was psyched! I practiced with my cousin Hannah, and we were taking turns. I held Hannah’s arm and was helping her balance. She got kind of far. When it was my turn I put the unicycle on the deck. It was much smoother than the lawn. I had to lean against the wall and put my foot on the pedal and I tried again and again. I was getting wobbly but my mom caught me and pushed me back up. I didn’t fall and I felt happy because I didn’t fail. I pushed the pedals and went forward. It felt like I had a snake crawling up my spine and I pedaled as fast as I could again and grabbed onto the house. I jumped off and my mom cheered! I felt bad because my dad wasn’t there to see it, he was at the dentist. By the time my dad came back from the dentist it was too dark for me to show him.I practiced more and then I felt proud of myself. I am already good enough to ride my unicycle in parades. I rode my unicycle in the Sparkle Parade in Freeport, and I got to do a halftime show for the Maine Red Claws. It felt good!

The Last Time I Fell Off My Bike by Amy

One day when I was 8 years old, I was practicing on my two-wheeler because I was just learning how to ride. My new bike was hot pink with really cool designs, dashes and swirls, from the Mongoose company. The seat had designs too, skulls and crossbones. I thought it was sweet! I was doing so well. I could turn wide but not tight yet. Anyway, I was riding down the driveway and I turned, and I just saved myself from falling. I tried to ride with one hand, bad idea. I went down with a bang! I had fallen off my bike. I got hurt and my bike was laying on me. I was crying, screaming and whining all at the same time. My mom took me inside and washed my scrape off. I was frozen with fear. After I was moving again I got back up on my bike and started to ride.My scrape didn't hurt at all because my mom had put the special stuff on it, it's like vaseline that makes the scrape heal. Oh, and by the way, I did not fall off again.

My Last Dream by Sam

I was falling asleep one night and I was dreaming about Avitar. Poofzzzzzz…. “Oh come on” Saku said. They were in the dead end of air vent about above the Water Bending practice house in the North Pole. Kataru and Ang were training. “Let’s go” said Ang “OK “ mumbled Katura. Ching, ching, kick, I could hear the sound of his feet hitting the ground. The training was just about to start. Swish swish made the sound of the moving water. Ang started looking for Katara, and a few minutes later he found him.

I suddenly woke up and I thought that was the best dream ever.

A Person Who Matters to Me by Devin

My mom is awesome. She buys me a lot of video games and movies. While I am at school, I hope she has bought me IRON MAN II on DVD. I am a big fan of the Marvel Heroes series. I like the stories of where they came from, for example Spider Man got bitten by a spider when he was on a field trip and that is how he became Spider Man. The Hulk got exposed to gamma radiation, and Iron Man owns his own jet.Once we got a movie from the Red Box that was rated PG, and it should have been rated R. It was Jaws. It was a little scary, especially at the end when the shark jumped out of the water, I should have expected it, but it still got to me. At that time it was the scariest movie I had ever seen, but recently I saw Poltertgiest and that is the scariest movie, the special effects are realistic.Mom also buys me video games. Once I came home and I had gotten a Hulk game. Mom said “I don’t think you are going to want to play Hulk.” She had bought me another video game, it was Iron Man II for the Wii. I was pretty excited. I am glad that my mom is so awesome!

The Last Time I Went Camping by Lucas

The last time I went camping, when I heard the news I was so excited. When we left home for Littlefield Campground it was raining. We had loaded our canoe on top of the mini van and it looked like it was resting on the window. Our campsite was close to the water. We stayed two nights. We had a train track close to our campsite and we could hear the train. The first night there was a very loud train but I slept right through it. The next day we went canoeing. We brought snacks and my fishing pole. It was a big lake. We paddled almost all the way around. We saw some islands and at one island people were climbing a tree and then jumped into the water. Then we went into a shallow narrow place in between two islands. I tried to catch a fish but I had no luck. Next we saw a stump in the water. There was a 6 inch fish swimming over the stump. We paddled through some weeds. I looked in the water a saw a foot long fish! It swam under the canoe and swam away. We also saw two kayaks attached. It was a paddleboat, and people were jumping off it. When we headed back we were looking for the stump with the six inch fish. All of a sudden we heard a loud crunch. We realized that we had just hit the stump. We started heading back to the campsite, and on the way we didn't see anything interesting. We got back to the campsite, changed our clothes and went to play mini golf. There were 18 holes and one of the holes was like a little ant hill. Hole number 5 was a small barn with a hole in it and a slow fan that was spinning over the hole, which made it hard for the ball to go in. You had to time it just right.

My Dog Buster by Hannah

I have a dog named Buster. He is a heavy dog. He is always calm, and he is a rhodesian ridgeback. Buster is a funny dog, he likes to droop his head on the bed. He is cute and he loves my papa. I feel bad for Buster when he has to go to the vet. Sometimes when he gets shots I think he feels frightened. He is such a fraidy cat! He is even scared of my unicycle. But I can’t blame him, because I accidently hit him with it. One time Buster was running. I said “ Come here boy” he ran to me and knocked me over. It hurt, so I went inside and laid down. Buster came in too, and he started to lick me, I laughed. I love Buster so much!

My Dog by Bella

My Dog

I got a dog. She is brown, white, and black. I was happy. I got food for her with a dish. We got puppy bites. I named her Dylan Lady Grace, but we call her Gracie. I feed her and give her water every day. I got her when she was nine weeks old. She cost $600. We got her at a lady's house who breeds dogs. It was in the mountains in Maine. I bought some toys for her too. I love her, but I wish she was white. One time Gracie got stuck on our porch and she got scratched by a piece of wood. It made me cry. Gracie has a brother named Sidney Mikwen. Sid lives at my grandparent’s house. Gracie misses Sid, and sometimes she whines for him. I have four dogs altogether but Gracie is my favorite.

1. The Last Time I Saw the Red Sox by Caleb

The Last Time I Saw the Red Sox

I went to a Red Sox game, just me and my dad.My dad teaches me how to do sports, like basketball, baseball and soccer. I was really excited. My heart was pumping really fast. It was extremely exciting because I love the Red Sox. In batting practice I went to left field. I ran for a ball and I caught one. It felt like I was a professional baseball player. The red sox had two fantastic home runs. One run was hit by Kevin Youkoulous and the other one was hit by Big Pappy, David Ortiz. When Youk hit his home run the crowd yelled "Yooooouuuk". It sort of sounds like they are booing him, but you tell by the "y" that they are cheering for him.

We ate hot dogs and shared a Pepsi. Then we got french fries, there was so much food to pick from like nachos, and popcorn. They also has the big pretzels and pizza. It was easy to pick because I know what I like to eat.

Of course, the Red Sox won 9-3! The people cheered! We had to walk a long way to our car, I got tired and fell asleep on the way home, but I had a fun day!

Crashing my Dirt Bike by Dom

Crashing my Dirt Bike

I rode my dirt bike and then I crashed it. I crashed in a sewer hole and some of the mud flew onto my back. The sewer was flooded and it was all over me. I started to cry because I was scared and sad. I went behind a tree to hide. Then it was time to go to bed. Tears were on my face.

The Best Time at Horse Camp by Bailey

The Best Time at Horse Camp

This summer I went to horse camp. My friend Courtney came with me, and she rode my cousins horse. She rode English. There was a horse named Rascal at horse camp. I can see why they named him Rascal, because he is a rascal. He tried to break his stall gate, and he wasn’t listening, He was bad. My friend Emma also went to horse camp and she brought her horse Ava, and my friend Mariah brought her horse Sadie. Mariah got bucked off two times! It was scary to see Mariah get bucked off. The first time she did not get hurt but the second time she really got hurt. Sadie ran out to her and then we had to go and catch her horse. Another bad thing that happened was Sugar got stuck in the gate, her leg got really stuck on the board. She could not help us help her get unstuck because she had a broken leg and she didn't want to move it! She was very crabby that morning.

Even though there were a few bad things that happened I had a great time at horse camp, and I hope next year I will get to bring my horse.

My First Time going to the Doctors by Maddie

My First Time Going to the Doctors

I went to the Doctor to get shots. I think shots are horrible. When I walked in to the doctor’s office my heart started to pound. I was scared! When I went into the fish room I saw fish, toys and benches. I sat down to wait. I played with the bead thing to keep me busy. After awhile I kind of got bored with that so I sat down to read some books.

When I got called in, had to sit on a little chair. The doctor came in, he had a blue top with blue pants. He had brown hair and he looked nice. He had one of those telescope things that check your heart around his neck, a stethscope. It makes sure your heart is not going too fast or too slow. He picked up a sharp needle and put it on the plunger, and then he gave me my shots. I said “ouch!” I cried a little bit, not very much at all. But after I got my shots I got a lollipop! Then my mom took me to the Dairy Queen. I felt super happy to get my shots, even though it was not a very fun time.

A Person who Matters to Me by Elijah

A Person Who Matters to Me

Sam is my best friend. I’ve known Sam since kindergarten. I used to live next door to him and we would wrestle all the time. Now when we get together we play Star Wars. Sam is really good at playing Star Wars, he knows a lot about Star Wars and he owns every single Star Wars action figure.

We also like to ride bikes around the apartment complex, which makes a figure eight. Sometimes we eat dinner together. This year Sam is in my third grade class. At school we run around the playground and eat lunch together.During recess we play ghost hunting and Call of Duty. We run around and pretend that we are fighting a war. When we play ghost hunting, me and Sam hunt for ghost because we think they are real. We usually run up to the hill and feel the rocks, we pretend they are the ghost graves. At school Sam is a really good reading. He likes to read the A-Z mysteries. I think Sam is my best friend.

A Person who Matters to Me by Connor

A Person Who Matters to Me

I care about my friend Ben. What I like about Ben is that he is funny and he likes hunting, just like me. He likes playing soccer and he likes playing baseball too! Where ever we go people think we look alike so they call us twins. They say “ Are you brothers, cousins, related at all?” Ben has been my friend since we were babies. We went to the same preschool. We have so much fun with each other and we still do. He comes to my house a lot to drive the golf cart. I got the golf cart at my Dad's work, it was only a little bit of money. Every time Ben came over we would ride in the golf cart. It is fun but also very dangerous. At my house there is a curve, and if you turn there fast you could flip over. It is scary, and we have to go very slow.On the dirt road the golf cart can kick up dust. I go to his house and we play video games, like the jet gun game. Sometimes we laugh during the game. Ben loves wrestling and I love it too! Ben is my best friend. I will always be Ben’s best friend forever.

My First Time as a Woodside One Wheeler by Emma

My First Time as a Woodside One Wheelers

On Thursday I went to WOW. WOW is a group of kids who perform in front of audiences. We stand on large round balls, we ride unicycles, we juggle with balls scarves, and sometimes little beanbags. It was my first time. I was scared. I was excited but also a little frightened, my heart was beating pretty fast. I tried a ball and I was shocked when I realized that I could stand up on it! I had my partner Emma Ruth, and a grown up help me stand up, and then they let go one at a time. It was so cool when I realized I could do it alone. I went to WOW last week for the second time. I tried stilts. I started at level one, which means Mr. P had to lower pegs to the first level. I walked halfway across the gym. Then I practiced a couple of more times and I moved on to level 2. I could do them so good. At the end of class I was at level three. It felt pretty good because I had never done stilts in my life. The hardest part of stilts is keeping your balance and making sure you are right where you need to be because you have to wrap your arms around them and when you are ready you have to bounce off the wall. The Woodside One Wheelers are going to do a few shows this year. Maybe even 4 or 5. I feel very excited about that!
